The concepts of death and birth share an inseparable bond in both human existence and nature. The parallel between the growth and life of humans and nature has always been a profound challenge. Humans, who were once an integral part of nature, grow like saplings, give birth, and eventually face death, just like the arrival of winter. This relationship has existed since the beginning and will continue. However, modernity has created a deep divide between humans and nature.

In this film, I aimed to create a metaphor about the conflict between modern humanity, nature, and modernity. The metaphors between humans and nature are depicted through the lens of the four essential elements of life: water, earth, air, and fire. The protagonist, stepping out from a modern world into a strange and unknown nature, engages with these elements. In exchange for her silence, inner peace, and self-forgiveness, she gives birth to her child from the lake. But is nature safe from this birth?

This short film delves into the complex and contradictory relationship between humans and nature in the modern world. The woman represents modern humanity, confronting the challenges that arise from being disconnected from nature. The baby symbolizes a future caught between the dualities of modernity and the need to reconnect with the natural world.

This story not only addresses maternal challenges and the struggles of childbirth but also larger issues like humanity’s attempt to find balance between progress and preserving its bond with nature. Can we find a place for peace and harmony with nature in the modern world, or will nature continue to resist human interference?

Through the use of natural imagery and poetic visual language, this short film invites the audience to reflect on the connection between humans and nature and the impacts of modernity on this relationship. It explores the restless and anxious search of humans to find their place in a rapidly changing world.
